Did you know South Carolina recognizes Confederate Memorial Day with a paid holiday for state employees?
“No. I did not. But that’s fine by me.”
“That’s something I didn’t know.”
“No. I wasn’t aware. But I think we should have a whole month.”
“No. I didn’t know. But I don’t have a problem with it.”
“I think the holiday should not be acknowledged because we, as South Carolinians, are trying to move forward and put the past behind. Anything that moves us forward should be recognized. Things of the past that start controversy should not be brought forward and recognized as a state holiday.”
