Chesterfield County’s Memorial Day Ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, May 26, at the Chesterfield County Courthouse. The Rev. Bruce Adams will be the guest speaker. The public is invited to attend and all veterans are encouraged to participate.
Memorial Day is a federal holiday set aside specifically to honor those who died while serving the nation. Veterans’ Day, in November, is the official day to honor all the men and women who serve the U.S. military, past and present.
Local servicemembers’ names will be read and family members given an opportunity to place flowers at the base of the memorial maker on the grounds of the courthouse.
