Northeastern Technical College hosted a special orientation session July 22 for new students called SOAR.
The Student Orientation and Accelerated Registration event is designed to help students become familiar with the class registration process, the campus, adviser assignments, office hours and the variety of programs and services Northeastern Tech offers to help students select their pathway to the future, college officials said.
The fast-paced, one-day orientation and registration session allowed new students to meet with their advisers and provided them with “first pick” of the classes being offered for the fall semester.
In addition to the registration and orientation, students received a tour of the campus and were also given the opportunity to meet with various college departments to ask additional questions.
All students attending the SOAR event will be classroom-ready on Aug. 18 when fall classes begin, officials said.
Students who have not yet registered for classes will be able to attend open registration on Aug. 12. Fall classes start on Aug. 18.
