The Empire Strikes Brass, an Asheville, North Carolina-based group back for its second S.C. Jazz Festival, leads the Bebop Parade through residential streets in downtown Cheraw.
It took no fewer than five people to make this owl puppet “fly” during the parade.
The S.C. Jazz Festival’s Bebop Parade wound its way through residential streets to downtown Cheraw, where the processional ended with music and birthday cake in honor of the 98th anniversary of jazz legend Dizzy Gillespie’s birth.
A colorful cast of characters makes its way down Market Street during Saturday’s Bebop Parade.
