“Even the world’s strongest gladiators need a time and a place to rest and to lay down their armor,” says former NFL player and author Pastor Jerone Davison.
As a conference host of the Broken Strongman movement, which is named for his best selling-book, Davison said he saw a need for men who share his testimony of being betrayed and cheated on to learn healthy and biblical ways to heal and reconstruct their lives and surroundings.
“I thought I was living the perfect life as a professional athlete, an upright man of God, faithful husband and father, until my wife’s infidelity completely turned my life upside down,” Davison said. “This devastation almost took me out mentally and spiritually. During this dry season, it was the Holy Spirit who took me back to school and taught me key fundamental pillars of good character attributes whose value in life and love have proven to be understandable.”
Davison has created a conference series to spotlight the healing of hurting men who are pursuing a kingdom mindset. Each conference features Davison and other speakers.
The Broken Strongman National Men’s Conference is scheduled Saturday, Nov. 14 at FreeWorship, 915 Chesterfield Highway, Cheraw.
Featured guest speaker is Dr. Stan Harris, a motivational speaker and 10th-degree black belt. Others include Dr. Charles Johnson of Victory Community Church Phoenix, Arizona, and keynote speaker Pastor Tommy Steele, the New Life Independent Baptist Church of Concord, North Carolina.
Davison is also the author of “The Spiritual Fragrance of a Woman.” He counsels and teaches workshops to singles and married couples on the importance of the consistency of keeping God first in any relationship.
