Social workers are seeking a family to adopt John, an active young man who enjoys the outdoors and sports.

He loves going to the park, playing basketball or throwing a football. When asked to describe himself, John states, “I am nice, friendly and I’m fun to play with.”

He is a very strong-minded teenager, social workers say. When he puts his mind to something, he puts 100 percent effort into it. John doesn’t like change, so it will take him time to adjust to a new environment. He responds well to one-on-one attention.

An ideal family would also love sports like John does and provide him with consistency and structure that includes clear rules, limitations and boundaries as well as one-on-one attention.

For information on adopting John, contact Heather Boyles of the S.C. Department of Social Services’ Division of Adoptions at heather.boyles@dss.sc.gov or call the Region II Division of Adoption Services office in Columbia at 888-711-7095.
