COLUMBIA — The public’s input is being sought for the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division’s accreditation process.

Comments from the public and agency employees are welcomed as the division undergoes its onsite review as part of its accreditation process by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.

As part of the review CALEA assessment team, individuals are invited to offer comments at a public information session to be held in the training room of the South Carolina Sheriffs’ Association at 112 Westpark Boulevard, Columbia, at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1.

Anyone unable to attend the public information session may submit comments by calling toll free 1-888-834-8093 or from the Columbia area at 803-896-7246 and 803-896-5427 from 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 1 to reach the assessment team members.

Telephone comments must address SLED’s ability to comply with CALEA standards. A set of those standards is available for public review at SLED’s offices at 4400 Broad River Road, Columbia, during regular business hours Mondays through Fridays.

For more information, contact Tamara Roker at 803-896-7578.
