Three years after moving to the area, Tanya and Gene Rosera decided to bring a more charm and commerce to downtown Cheraw with the opening of Maison Parfaite, 215 Market St.
Tanya Rosera said they saw a need for economic growth, particularly in Cheraw, and wanted to be part of the solution.
“That was the main motivation,” she said. “Also personally, I’ve been moving things around since I was a little girl. I’ve always wanted to do this on my own. I’ve worked in retail and home decorating and this was the perfect opportunity, me being retired, to get started on my own.”
As customers enter the shop, the polished wood floors sparkle almost as much as the glasses and silver and gold decorative pieces in the showcases.
Open for three weeks, Rosera said business has been great. Customers have come from all corners of Chesterfield County and Charlotte and Laurinburg, North Carolina.
Moving from the hustle and bustle of northern Virginia, the Roseras have adjusted to many places not being open on Sunday when those traveling from the beach or visiting from out of town would be coming through. They kept that in mind when determining their store hours.
Tanya Rosera is still trying to figure out the schedule. For now, Maison Parfaite is open from 10 a.m.to 5 p.m. every day except for Tuesdays.
So why should customers shop at Maison Parfaite?
Rosera said she has some exceptional items that shoppers would otherwise have to travel pretty far to find — like lotus flower candles and ornate silver serving trays. There’s an air of Christmas as well with wreaths and garland-intertwined silver ribbons.
She knows there are some other options for home decorations, but Rosera said she’ll also be offering decorating consultations.
“And just coming in here and getting a new vibe,” she said. “I hope everybody finds that it’s just the right place for their perfect home. Maison Parfaite means perfect home. I hope I can help everybody can find just the right space.”
