PAGELAND — Chesterfield County sheriff’s deputies are still searching for a man accused of shooting another man in Pageland on Dec. 7.
Travis Liles, 27, of Mount Croghan, had not been apprehended as of Tuesday afternoon, according to Lt. Daniel Scott.
Liles was allegedly sitting in a vehicle with the victim, Willie McBride, at a home on Crossroads Church Road, Pageland repeatedly flashing a light from his phone in McBride’s face. McBride told officers he repeatedly asked Liles to stop.
Eventually Liles entered the home and — according to the victim and other witnesses — returned outside with a gun, which he waved at the victim.
Deputies say Liles then started to shoot at McBride, who was getting back into the car.
No one else was injured, but Liles had left the scene by the time deputies arrived. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office at 843-623-2101.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.
