Cheraw town employees were honored during an appreciation lunch last Friday at the Country Kitchen.

Town Manager Mike Smith told the workers he knows what they have to go through and he really appreciates them and their hard work.

“We do have your best interest at heart and we appreciate you,” Smith said.

Mayor Andy Ingram agreed.

“And I say this time and time again: Y’all make us look good,” he said. “Y’all are in contact with citizens and working with the public every day. Y’all do make us look good. We don’t thank you enough. I appreciate your loyalty to your jobs. I like to see longevity. When somebody jumps form one job to another, that tells you something. Sticking with your job as long as y’all have says something.”

Ingram also recognized Hoyt Harrison, Linda Smith. Ricky Ingram and Alan McLeod, who will be retiring in the upcoming months. He praised them for their hard work and joked he hopes he will be able to retire one day like them.

“This little recognition is to say thank you and that we are proud of you,” he said.

Some workers won T-shirts and other door prizes as well as gift cards.
