The Cheraw Arts Commission will present two drama camps from July 13-16.

The instructor for these camps is Jessica Caraway. Both camps will be held at the Theatre on the Green in Cheraw. Registration is required for the camps and the deadline to register is July 9. Registrations will be held at the Cheraw Community Center, 200 Powe St.

The morning session is I’ll Tell You A Tale Summer Drama Camp from 10 a.m. to noon for ages 10-18. During this four-day dramatic arts camp, students will explore acting through various activities while also breathing new life into roles from classic tales from literature. Expect a week filled with excitement, energy, and creativity, ending with a theatrical showcase on the last day of camp. Fee for the camp is $35.

The “We Are Stars” Special Needs Drama Camp will be held in the afternoon from 1-2 p.m. Students will discover acting through a variety of creative activities. A mini-showcase is planned for the last day of camp.

This camp is open for children ages 5-18. A parent/adult caregiver must stay with child during camp activities each day. Children with any type of special needs are encouraged and welcome. This is a free camp, but registration is required by July 9.
