DARLINGTON — A Florence man faces attempted murder charges after authorities say he sprayed a car with gunfire.
Michael Mishawn Pigett, 26, of 3041 Brandon Woods Road, turned himself in June 22 after the June 21 shooting, Darlington County Sheriff J. Wayne Byrd said in a statement.
Pigett fired into a vehicle with two people inside after an altercation with the occupants, Byrd said. Neither person in the car was injured.
Authorities were searching for Pigett after the shooting and issued an advisory seeking information on his current whereabouts before he turned himself in the next day.
Darlington County deputies charged Pigett with two counts each of attempted murder and pointing and presenting a firearm at a person and one count each of possession of a weapon during a violent crime, discharging a firearm into a vehicle while occupied and causing malicious injury to personal property with a value of more than $2,000 but less than $10,000.
Pigett was denied bond during a June 23 hearing and remained in the Darlington County Detention Center.
