From wedding, engagement and anniversary announcements to new business openings and church and civic club events, The Cheraw Chronicle is seeking submissions of local news from individuals and groups in the community.
“Published for more than 125 years, the Chronicle is the newspaper of record for Cheraw and Chesterfield County, and we want the paper to do an even better job showcasing what’s going on in our communities,” editor Corey Friedman said. “This is your newspaper, and it should include the local news and information that matters most to you each and every week.”
The Chronicle accepts submissions announcing local events, awards and recognition, church events like vacation Bible schools, business announcements and more.
Readers are also invited to sound off on matters of local, state and national interest by sending letters to the editor. Letters should be 300 words or fewer and include the author’s name, hometown and daytime telephone number. Phone numbers are for verification purposes only and will not be published.
To share your news, email email@example.com. Written submissions can appear in the body of the email message or attached as Microsoft Word documents or rich-text format (.rtf) files. Please attach photos in the .jpg file format. Photos embedded in text documents may not be suitable for publication.
News releases, announcements and photos can also be dropped off at The Cheraw Chronicle’s 114 Front St. office during regular business hours from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
