Cheraw students honored at USC Upstate

SPARTANBURG — Two Chesterfield County students have been named to honors lists at the University of South Carolina Upstate and a Cheraw native was among the school’s 513 graduates.

Jacob Forman of Cheraw and Jessica Shepard of Cheraw were named to the USC Upstate dean’s list for the spring 2015 semester.

To be eligible for the dean’s list, freshmen students must earn a 3.25 or higher grade-point average and be enrolled in at least 12 course hours and upperclassmen must earn a 3.5 GPA or higher and be enrolled in at least 12 course hours.

Elton Hooks of Cheraw graduated from USC Upstate on May 5, the school announced in a July 8 release.

USC Upstate recognized 513 May graduates during commencement exercises held on the quad behind the John C. Stockwell Administration Building.
