Charleston artist Joyce Hall will return to Cheraw on Sept. 18-20 for a three-day workshop.

Hall is an international award-winning oil painter and has exhibited in galleries and museums nationally. For more information and to see examples of her work, visit www.thestudiosc.com.

The focus of the September workshop is landscape composition. The class will explore techniques to create balance and interest in a landscape painting. Participants will learn to see the painting in a photo and develop an improved composition that cannot be achieved by merely copying a photo.

The workshop will be held at the Cheraw Police Department’s community room at 258 Second St. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost for the three-day workshop is $195. A supply list will be provided upon registration.

For additional information or to register, contact the Cheraw Arts Commission at 843-537-8420, extension 12.

The Cheraw Arts Commission is supported by the S.C. Arts Commission, which receives support from the National Endowment of the Arts.
