The Cheraw Arts Commission invites the public to an exhibit opening at the Burr Gallery from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 4.
The featured artist is Taylor Chestnut, a Cheraw native and recent graduate of the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities. She is the daughter of Elizabeth and Jason Chestnut.
Chestnut will attend the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City this fall. She has pursued her interest in fashion during summer workshops at Savannah College of Art & Design in jewelry design classes and fashion accessory construction with FIT instructors. Her last semester at the Governor’s School included a metal concentration.
The exhibit will feature fashion accessories, visual art and fine art that includes paintings, drawings, metal work and ceramics. Chestnut’s artwork will be displayed during the month of June.
The Burr Gallery is located at the Cheraw Community Center, 200 Powe St., and is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
