HARTSVILLE — A Chesterfield County man is among three suspects charged with attempted murder in a Sunday home invasion robbery near the county line.
Ricky Jerry Wallace, 22, of Patrick, Daniel Harrison Wallace, 23, of Hartsville, and Jerry Levi Oneal, 22, of Hartsville, are accused of forcing their way into a home on the 2400 block of West Old Camden Road.
The three suspects were there to rob a man of money and marijuana, Darlington County Sheriff J. Wayne Byrd said in a release. Byrd said they attacked the man and the suspects’ semi-automatic handgun went off during a struggle inside the home.
Byrd did not name the victim but said he was treated at a local hospital for injuries he sustained in the assault. It was not clear whether deputies found marijuana or whether the victim would face charges.
Darlington County deputies charged the suspects with one count each of attempted murder, armed robbery, first-degree burglary, possession of a weapon during commission of a violent crime, criminal conspiracy and petit larceny.
Daniel Wallace faces an additional count of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, Byrd said.
Ricky Wallace, Daniel Wallace and Oneal were booked into the Darlington County Detention Center on Monday and remained in jail awaiting a bond hearing Monday afternoon.
The home where the robbery attempt took place is near Lake Robinson and Duke Energy’s Robinson Nuclear Plant close to the Chesterfield-Darlington county line.
