To the editor:
This article is not to throw stones at the hospital here in Cheraw, but to help make it a better place to go when in need to be cared for.
I was there on Sunday, Nov. 8, from 3:20 until 11 p.m. that night with my nephew, who was in a car wreck around 2:45 p.m.
Other people was there also waiting in there at that time to be seen. I have never seen such out of order or no cooperation of getting the people back to be helped.
They were sick and hurting. It was terrible. From 3:20 until 9:45 p.m. before being seen for my nephew. I was told they had one intern.
Now, McLeod Hospital, something is wrong with that system. I became sore from sitting and waiting. That kind of service will not and cannot last long. Some people cannot get to other hospitals. Please go back to your administration table and re-evaluate the purpose of this emergency room or redirect to other towns.
This is very serious. I had to write because no one deserves to sit that long in as small town as Cheraw is. This is not New York or California. You need more than one doctor for the evening. This incident cannot get any worse. Holding back on salaries will not serve this human being problem.
