“I feel helpless. I’ve got photos of them and still can’t catch them,” said Todd McLain, owner of Patrick Auto Salvage, whose business was robbed, again, Dec. 12, of more than 150 rims; each valued at approximately $100.

McLain said his business has been robbed several times during the past six months. “Last time they got more like two or three hundred rims,” he said.

Frustrated, McLain decided to invest in surveillance cameras with infrared lighting. “I camouflaged the cameras,” said McLain, but in most of the footage the burglars were too close for the cameras to focus. The footage, however, does reveal the suspects spent more than three hours loading merchandise from the business.

“It was agonizing to watch them going back and forth,” said McLain. The suspects were in the building from midnight until approximately 3:30 a.m.

McLain’s frustration has prompted him to offer a $1,000 cash reward to anyone who can positively identify the perpetrators. “It’s been awful. I finally set what I thought was a trap, and still, nobody can help,” he said.
