Albert Carl Pierce, 86, died on Thursday, Nov. 29, at his home.
A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Dec. 1, at Cheraw Church of God. Interment will follow in the Old St. David’s Cemetery, Cheraw.
Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 30, at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, 318 E. Main Street, Chesterfield.
Pierce was born March 27, 1926, in Timmonsville, a son of the late Oliver Bloomfield and Lena Goude Pierce. He was a retired employee of Palmetto Brick Company, and a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, where he was the recipient of the Bronze Star and the Good Conduct Medal. Pierce was a member of Cheraw Church of God. In addition to his parents, Pierce was preceded in death by his son, Johnny Pierce; infant twin daughters; two sisters; six brothers; and a great-great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Leigh Brigman.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Margaret Jacobs Pierce of the home, three daughters, Margaret A. (Tommy) Pegues of Lancaster, Linda (Donnie) Gulledge of Morristown, Tenn., and Rebecca Sellers of Wallace, one brother, Woodrow Pierce of Laurinburg, one sister, Marie “Mable” Anderson of Cheraw, seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
