The Cheraw Recreation and Leisure Services Department will be offering Carolina Shag Dance classes taught by Patty Blackmon of Concord, N.C.
Patty is a certified Southern Shaggers instructor with over 25 years teaching experience in both Carolinas. So come learn in six lessons the fundamentals of the dance that originated in the Carolinas.
Open to singles and couples. The six week session schedule is Oct. 15 and 22, then Nov. 5, 12, 19 and 26. Beginner class is from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Intermediate/advanced class will be from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Classes are held at the Cheraw Community Center.
The class fee is $50.00 for city; $65 for out of city residents for the six week session. Minimum participants is 10 so preregister by Oct. 12, by contacting the recreation office at 537-8420.
