Chesterfield, SC- Mrs. Hazel Eudy Rhode, age 77, died Sunday, January 20, 2013. A funeral service was held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Shiloh United Methodist Church. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, January 21, 2013 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.
Mrs. Rhode was born May 18, 1935 in Pageland, SC a daughter of the late George L. and Audrey Knight Eudy. She was a graduate of Pageland High School, and was a retired supervisor with Chesterfield Manufacturing Co., with 34 years of service. Mrs. Rhode was an active member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Bible Class and the UMW. Hazel enjoyed traveling, crocheting, spending time with her grandchildren, and going out to eat. In addition to her parents, Hazel was also preceded in death by her husband, Russell Rhode, her son, John Weldon Rivers, her infant daughter, and by her 2 sisters, Joan “Joann” Rivers and Joyce Allen.
Mrs. Rhode is survived by two daughters, Melinda (Clay) Treadaway and Myra Rivers both of Chesterfield; three grandchildren, Casey (Amy) Rivers, Brooke (Johnny) Treadaway, and Colton Treadaway all of Chesterfield and a special caregiver, Dana Renee Hooks.
