Keeping a clean heart, mind and spirit
The Bible tells us that no man is perfect. Only God. Therefore, we all have faults in some way or another. Some of us do not want to admit to having them, but I believe that the old saying “confession is good for the soul” holds true. I must agree, however, there are many types of confessions as there are many different beliefs.
If a criminal confesses to a crime he or she has committed, then he or she must suffer the consequences by man’s law, therefore, must pay the price of going to prison. If one knows to do good works and chooses to turn the other direction to do evil, then it is a sin according to God’s Word. God is a faithful, merciful and forgiving God. He never leaves us or will He forsake us. It is the other way around; we are the ones who leave Him.
The Bible adheres us to pray for one another and confess our faults to one another, so that we may be healed. Does this mean that we should tell everyone everything about our lives? I don’t feel this is what Gods is saying. However, it is great to have a true friend or a trusted Pastor to turn to in times of struggle, or when one does not know who to trust or talk to. Many people may be ashamed to confess that something is wrong in their life. The way I see this is that God is our only “true” judge. People will talk and say things about others when they hear gossip, but, as Christians, we should try to ignore rumors of others. We are not here on this earth to judge others when they do wrong. God placed us here to tell others about Jesus Christ and His plan of salvation. None of us are without sin. But, we have the right as Christians to go directly to God through His Son, Jesus Christ for forgiveness. Because Jesus shed his blood on the cross of Calvary for the entire lost world, we are heirs to God and His throne in Heaven when we accept Him as our personal Savior. This world is getting worse everyday. We must remain faithful to God and honor His name daily.
This week’s scriptures are about prayer and serving the Lord. There is no other way to survive and there is no other way to enter Heaven, but through Jesus Christ.
