Mr. and Mrs. Brian (Sherry) Petre of Grand Rapids, Michigan, announce the engagement of their daughter, Rachel Ashley Petre, to John Erwin Adams of Charleston.
The bride-elect’s maternal grandparents are Mrs. Janet Fredley of St. Peters, Missouri, and the late Mr. Jake Fredley. Her paternal grandparents are Mrs. Norma Bernard of Hannibal, Mo., and the late Mr. Keith Bernard.
Miss Petre studied at Eastern Illinois University and Lakeview College of Nursing where she graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She is employed as a Registered Nurse at MUSC Children’s Hospital in the cardiac unit in Charleston.
The groom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George (Debbie) Adams of Cheraw. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Henry (Mondell) Brasington of Cheraw and the late Mr. and Mrs. Erwin (Virginia) Adams of Laurinburg, N.C.
Mr. Adams graduated from Winthrop University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. He is employed by CPI Security Systems as a security consultant in Charleston.
A wedding has been planned for May 26, 2012, at Middleton Plantation in Charleston.
