Weather warnings for Chesterfield County

A mix of adverse weather for the Carolinas tonight and into Thursday includes a tornado watch for several counties including Chesterfield, according to the National Weather Service.

The tornado watch is in effect until 1:00 a.m.

There’s also a severe thunderstorm warning that includes Chesterfield County.

The weather service Doppler radar indicated a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. These storms were located along a line extending from 9 miles northeast of Lancaster to 17 miles west of

Lugoff and moving east at 35 mph.

There is also a wind advisory in effect until 6 a.m. Thursday. Wind gusts to around 45 mph may down some trees and power lines. Motorists should use caution on the roadways, especially those in high profile vehicles.
