William “Bill” A. Law, 90, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012.

A celebration of life, will be held 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 5, at Calvary Baptist Church, 132 Calvary Lane, Cheraw. The family will receive friends at Calvary Baptist Church from 1 to 2 p.m. before the service. Burial will be at a later date.

He was born Aug. 8, 1922, to Alfred and Lillie Law in Adairsville, Ga., the oldest son of seven siblings. He lived in Cheraw, and for many years in Charlotte, N.C.

Law served in World War II in the Philippines, as a Military Policeman for which he received many medals. He was an avid deer hunter. He also liked to fish and travel. Law was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

He was predeceased by his mother and father, son, Benny Law, sisters, Mary Bridges, Irene Price, brothers, Larry Law and Dean Law.

Surviving Law is his wife, Shirley Hathcock Law, two daughters, Judith L. Ollis (Jim) of Newland, N.C. and Carol L. Byers (Claude) of Dalton, Ga., sister, Jean L. Raley (Pete) of Rome, Ga., brother, Jimmy Joe Law (Sandra) of Grand Isle, Ala., nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
