Cheraw Primary School students, their parents, teachers, and others from the community, raised $2,256 in a matter of hours, during the Fall Festival held on the school’s playground last Thursday evening. All of the money will be donated to Relay for Life, according to event organizer Brandie Rivers.

The festival offered everything from cotton candy and funnel cakes, to a dunking booth, a Velcro wall, rock climbing, and face painting. Music was provided by Fisher and Mattie “In the Morning” of WJMX 103.3.

“We would not have been able to raise so much money for Relay if it were not for the support of the community, faculty and staff of Cheraw Primary,”said Rivers. “Various businesses in town donated to the cause, and we received lots of help from individuals and parents.” All of these factors combined, she said, to create a successful festival.

“It was a wonderful evening,” Rivers said, “seeing so many families out having fun together and supporting a great cause. Thank you to everyone that made this possible.”
