BENNETTSVILLE — Organizers are seeking event sponsors and signing up golfers for Marlboro Electric’s 75 Acts of Kindness charity golf tournament planned for Aug. 14 at the Marlboro Country Club.
The charity tournament seeks to award up to $500 for specific projects or needs to 75 recipients and community groups.
“Our sole purpose is to give back to the community we are a part of, and 100 percent of the proceeds from this golf tournament will be distributed as gifts to needy people and families,” Marlboro Electric energy specialist and safety coordinator Matt Haynie said in an email.
A tournament sponsorship is $1,500 and beverage cart ($500), food ($300) and hole ($100) sponsorships are also available.
Registration runs from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Aug. 14 with lunch provided. The four-man captain’s choice tourney begins with a shotgun start at noon.
Golfers can win a car for the hole-in-one prize and the first-place team will win $500 cash. Organizers said “many more” giveaways are also planned.
Registration is $250 for a four-person team and $70 for individuals. The cost includes green fees, cart, mulligans, lunch, drinks and refreshments.
Checks can be mailed to Marlboro Electric Cooperative, PO Box 1057, Bennettsville, SC 29512.
