Farmers’ market vouchers available for seniors

BENNETTSVILLE — The Chesterfield Marlboro Economic Opportunity Council in partnership with the South Carolina Department of Social Services will be issuing senior farmers’ market nutrition coupons to low-income individuals age 60 and older that may be used to purchase fresh produce at local participating farmers’ markets.

Each eligible person will receive $25 worth of coupons that may be used at participating markets from June through Oct. 15. The coupons will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis until the supply is exhausted.

The coupons will be issued at:

• McColl City Hall, 300 S. Main St., from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday, June 8

• Bennettsville Community Center, 714 N. Marlboro St., 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 9 and Wednesday, June 10
