PAGELAND - Mary Magdalene Funderburk, 97, died March 14, 2011.

Funeral services were held March 19 at Mount Calvary Baptist, in Pageland, with burial followed in the church cemetery.

Funderburk was born Sept. 4, 1913. She was a native of Wingate, N.C., but settled in Pageland for most of her life until her health failed, then she became a resident of Chesterfield Convalescent Center, in Cheraw.

Mary accepted Christ an early age, she was a member of Nicey Grove Baptist, in Wingate. After moving to Pageland, she attended various churches and later in life joined Mount Calvary Baptist.

Funderburk was preceded in death by husband Martin Luke Funderburk and son Luke Funderburk Jr.

Surviving are son Jessie Funderburk; grandsons Chriss Snead, of Fort Carson, Colo., and Leon Hunter, Allen Hunter and Dwayne Hunter, of Lancaster, S.C.; nieces Betty McManus, of Falls Church, Va., and Mary Funderburk and Shirlene Rivers, of Pageland; nephews J. Frank Sutton and Willie Sutton, of Pageland, Randy (Alice) Sutton, of Lancaster, and David (Carolyn) Sutton, Thomas Sutton and Michael Sutton, of Pageland; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Flemming Funeral Home served the Funderburk Family.
