Dear Editor,
Have you noticed that the Democrats always try to scare people at election time? They do it by telling old folks that the Republicans will take away Social Security, Medicare, etc. at every election, over and over again. Since they have no good ideas on how to improve things and never have a plan to offer about anything, they just complain and scare people into voting for Democrats. Everything seems to be aimed at staying in power, so that they can gradually and continually gain more control over our lives.
Now, they are trying to scare everyone. Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, head of the Democratic National Committee, has said that conservatives want to “take the people who are younger than 55 years old today and tell them, ‘You know what? You’re on your own. …We’re going to throw you to the wolves and allow insurance companies to deny you coverage and drop you for pre-existing conditions.’ ” President Obama stated that the House budget “ends Medicare as we know it.”
The Democratic National Committee also released a TV ad immediately after the House budget vote, which claimed that “Republicans voted to end Medicare.”
The simple truth is that the president needs to look in the mirror when he’s talking about “ending Medicare as we know it.” Obamacare not only changed current seniors’ Medicare benefits, but it also sets up a committee of unelected bureaucrats who – starting in 2015 – can make any changes to Medicare that they see fit. (Without the approval of Congress.) Mick Mulvaney
A House Congressional Resolution states that “Policy on Medicare Reform- It is the policy of this resolution to protect those in and near retirement from any disruptions to their Medicare benefits and offer future beneficiaries the same health care options available to Members of Congress.”

In addition, the Democrats, as usual, have pulled out the class envy card again. They are continually resorting to pitting us against the wealthy. We need the wealth to provide jobs and expand their companies to grow our economy. If they are taxed more, our government will not spend that money wisely, as they have demonstrated in the past, so it would be throwing the good money after bad, or like down a rat hole.
Our country is in financial and moral trouble. So far, it is the Republicans that seem to be offering ideas to help make the required changes to get our spending and government back on track. All the Democrats seem to offer is scare tactics. They have held the majority of the power for the past 40-50 years, so it is the Democrats, with a little help from the Republicans that have driven this country into the ground.
Now it is time for us to all bite the bullet and reduce spending drastically. If our country is to survive as the greatest in the world, we must stop being scared by the Democrats and stand up for what we all know is best for our country. You must make your voice heard by voting with common sense for the candidates that will do the right thing for our local government, State and country if we are to remain free and not slaves to the power hungry politicians.
