CHESTERFIELD — Fred Lee “Big Boy” White Jr., 87, died Oct. 2, 2011.

A graveside service was held Oct. 5 at 2 p.m. at Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens, Cheraw. Visitation followed the service at the cemetery.

Mr. White was born May 7, 1924, in Chesterfield, a son of the late Fred Lee White, Sr. and Annie Hunt White. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War. Fred was a retired carpet and rug dealer, and enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was a member and Deacon at Bay Springs Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Fred was also preceded in death by his wives, Margaret Watson White and Juanita L. White, and by his brother, Dean White.

Fred is survived by sons, Richard Lee (Harriett) White of Armuchee, Ga., and Kenneth Wayne (Ronda) White of Kinards; daughters, Irene White (Mitchell) Martin of Georgetown, and Wanda White (Earl) Taylor of Greensboro, N.C.; also seven grandchildren.

Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home served the White family.
