Murray M. Adams, 75, of Chesterfield, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003 at his home.

A funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23 from Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in David's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Chesterfield County, P.O. Box 293, Chesterfield, S.C. 29709.

Born in Chesterfield, Mr. Adams was a son of the late Bill A. and Kathleen Myers Adams. He was a former employee of Becker Sand and Gravel with 20 years of service and was a retired United States Postal employee with 35 years service. Mr. Adams was a United States Army veteran and was a 50-year member of the Chesterfield Masonic Lodge #220.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Ruth Harrington Adams of the home; a son, Ronnie (Diane) Adams of Chesterfield; a granddaughter, Cierra Adams; three brothers, Dorsey Adams of Bennettsville, and Lafond Adams and Richard Adams of Chesterfield; and five sisters, Ramona Cassidy, Iona Gaskins, Margie Adams, Sylvia Hancock and Janet Strickland, all of Chesterfield.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jerry Adams, Olin Adams and Danny Adams.

Arrangements were entrusted to Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.
