Gertrude Hannah Little, 83, of Chesterfield, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004 at Carolina Pines Hospital.

A funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8 from Salem Baptist Church. Burial followed in Sweet Home Baptist Church Cemetery.

Born in Chesterfield County, Mrs. Little was a daughter of the late Cleveland M. Hannah and Bessie Burch Hannah, and was the widow of Lee V. Little. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Clara Mae Phillips and Geneva Merriman both of Chesterfield; three sons, Calvin (Carol) Little of Charlotte, N.C., David (Stella) Little of Chesterfield, and Percell (Sheila) Little of Charlotte; four sisters, Marie Little of Chesterfield, Blanche (Rev. A.) Crawford, Elouise (Rev. C) Lotte and Dollie Hannah all of Kannapolis, N.C.; two sisters-in-law, Ollie Cash Little and Jeanette Hannah; 35 grandchildren 42 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by three daughters, Flora Bell Rivers, Beatrice Dubois and Margaret Louise Little; four sons, Henry Little, J.P. Little, Mack Little and Spurgeon Little; a brother, Millard Hannah; and three sisters, Ada Crawford, Minnie Jackson and Louise Hannah.
