Everett Ryvers Mason Sr., 88, of Cheraw, died Monday, Feb. 2, 2004.

A funeral service was held 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 5 from First Baptist Church, Cheraw. Burial followed in Anson Memorial Park, Wadesboro, N.C.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Chesterfield County, P.O. Box 293, Chesterfield, S.C. 29709; or First Baptist Church, Building Fund, P.O. Box 337, Cheraw, S.C. 29520.

Born in Albemarle, N.C., Mr. Mason was a son of the late John and Raincy Mason. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Friendship Sunday School Class, VIP Group, and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theater. He was also a member of Kilwinning Masonic Lodge No. 64. in Wadesboro, and VFW Post No. 10731 in Cheraw.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth Parker Mason of Cheraw; a son Everett R. (Margaret) Mason Jr. of Columbia; four grandchildren, Keith Mason of Lugoff, David (Bonnie) Cable of Lugoff, Robert (Pamela) Brimson and Bret (Suzie) Crowe of Lyman; and seven great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were entrusted to Kiser Funeral Home.
