Hollis G. Hurst Jr., 56, of Chesterfield, died Sunday, March 14, 2004.

A funeral service was held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 17 from Shiloh United Methodist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Born in Chesterfield, Mr. Hurst was a son of Vera King Hurst and the late Hollis G. Hurst Sr. He attended the University of South Carolina and was Manager of Logistics with INA USA Plants 1, 2 and 5 in Cheraw. Mr. Hurst was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, an avid golfer and member of Green River Country Club. He was also a member of the South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Advisory Board for Chesterfield and Marlboro counties.

Surviving are his wife, Joyce Deese Hurst of the home; three daughters, Angela H. (Gregg) Demby, Chasity H. (Michael) Lisenby, and Lisa Fay Hurst all of Chesterfield; his mother of Chesterfield; a sister, Mary Ellen (Steve) Gantt of Columbia; two granddaughters, Taylor Demby and Holli Demby of Chesterfield; and a special family member, Kyle Davis, stationed in Iraq with the South Carolina National Guard.

Arrangements were entrusted to Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.
