William Dorsey Adams, 80, of Bennettsville, died Monday, April 5, 2004.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 8 from Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in David's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Born in Chesterfield, Mr. Adams was a son of the late Bill A. and Kathleen Myers Adams. He retired after 42 years as shop mechanic with Becker Sand and Gravel Company, and worked for Ted Vick Motor Company for three and one-half years. Mr. Adams was a United States Army veteran of World War II and attended Oakland Baptist church.

Surviving are his wife, Frances Steen Adams of the home; a son, Mitch (Sherri) Adams of Little River; a granddaughter, Courtney Adams of Little River; two brothers, Lafond Adams and Richard Adams of Chesterfield; and five sisters, Ramona Cassidy, Iona Gaskins, Margie Adams, Sylvia Hancock and Janet Strickland, all of Chesterfield.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Threadgill Adams; and four brothers, Danny Ray Adams, Olin Adams, Jerry Adams, Olin Adams and Murray Adams.

Arrangements were entrusted to Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.
