A graveside funeral service was held at noon Saturday June 26, in Old St. David's Cemetery with the Rev. Thomas P. Murray officiating.

Born in Cheraw, Mr. Martin was a son of the late George Wythe and Blanche Gandy Martin. He graduated from Cheraw public schools and attended Wingate College. In 1932 Mr. Martin started in the automobile business and for 41 years owned Martin Motor Company, a local Pontiac and GMC dealership. He was a member of St. David's Episcopal Church and former member of the vestry. He also served on the Cheraw Town Council and was a charter member of the Cheraw Lions Club and Cheraw Civitan Club. He was a mason for 72 years in the Cheraw Masonic Lodge #15 and a Shriner.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Elizabeth McIntosh Martin of the home; two sons, Ralph G. "Marty" (Annette) Martin Jr. and George W. (Cathy) Martin all of Cheraw; a daughter, Mary M. (Larry) Lewis of Pensacola, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were entrusted to Norton Funeral Home of Cheraw.
