PAGELAND - Jack Ganson Funderburk, 90, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005 at the Rehabilitation Center, Monroe, N.C.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15 from Oak Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. James Thomas officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Born in Chesterfield County, Mr. Funderburk was a son of Callie Funderburk. He attended the public schools of Chesterfield County and was a faithful member of Oak Hill Baptist Church where he was the Sexton groundskeeper and custodian of the church as well as a Trustee and member of the Sunday School. Mr. Funderburk was a truck driver for many years and retired from Plyler's Saw Mill.

Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Ethel R. Robinson of the home; two sons, Bobby Eugene (Altha' Mae) Funderburk and George Washington (Eliza) Funderburk of Charlotte, N.C.; four sisters, Carrie (Brylus) McManus of Lancaster, Maude (James) Lockhart, Mace (C.B.) Robinson and Roxie (James) Blakeney all of Charlotte; six brothers, Julius (Sylvia) Funderburk of Kershaw, Coyte Funderburk of Pageland, Dock Funderburk of Charlotte, James (Marjorie) Funderburk of Lancaster, Guy Funderburk of Charlotte, and Ray (Marion) Funderburk of Huntersville, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Verla C. Funderburk and Olivia Funderburk; and a number of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Leevertis Funderburk and Jackie Boy Funderburk; four brothers, Bob Funderburk, Kemp Funderburk, Kelly Funderburk and Wade Funderburk; and a sister, Myrtle Miller.

Arrangements were entrusted to Flemming Funeral Home - Pageland.
