A funeral service was held Sunday, April 2 from Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Mt. Croghan Memorial Park.

Born in Mt. Croghan, Mr. Hancock was a son of the late R. Paul and Millie Jordan Hancock. He was a graduate of Pageland High School and a veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Hancock was an employee of Nyanza in Ruby for 16 years and Bowater Corporation for 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, going to the beach, and being with his family. Mr. Hancock was fond of all animals, especially his companion dog, Cassie.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Pat; a daughter, Cyn (Chris) Taylor of Lexington; a son, Shane (Anna) Hancock of Pageland; four granddaughters, Erin Taylor, Cory Taylor, Caroline Hancock and Sarah Hancock; a sister, Lib (Donald) Eddins of Ruby; two brothers-in-law, Riley (Pam) Mangum of Charlotte, N.C., and Wiley (Cindy) Mangum of Marshville, N.C.; a sister-in-law, Cindy Mangum of Leesburg, Va.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were entrusted to Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.
