RUBY - William T. “Bill” Short, 88, died Tuesday, April 18, 2006.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 21 from Clanton Plains Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Born in Chesterfield County, Mr. Short was a son of the late Henry and Rose Lane Short, and was the widower of Myrtle Oliver Short. He was a retired farmer and carpenter, and was a United States Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Short was a member of Clanton Plains Baptist Church.

Surviving are a son, William T. “Bill” (Wanda) Short Jr. of Ruby; and two grandsons, Matt (Temple) Short and Mark Short of Columbia.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Archie Short; and three sisters, Sadie Roberts, Margaret Privette and Lizzie Mae Hancock.

Arrangements were entrusted to Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.
