A funeral service was held at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 22, from Goodman Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Thomas Funderburk Jr., Howard Rogers, Darin Coleman and Derrick McQueen officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Born in Chesterfield County, Mrs. Pegues was a daughter of the late Rev. C.W. Funderburk and Anna Crawford Funderburk, and was the widow of Lee Charles Cue and Sylvester Pegues. The 12th of 18 children, Mrs. Pegues was educated in the Chesterfield County schools and attended Coulter Academy. She was a member of Goodman Creek Baptist Church, where she sang with the Senior Choir.
Surviving are three daughters, Margaret Ann Tate and Jo Ann McQueen of Cheraw, and Minnie Bell (Albert) White of Columbia; two sons, John E. Cue and Joseph Bernard Pegues of Cheraw; four grandchildren, the Rev. Derrick (Sandra) McQueen, Raphael J. Gadson, Constance (the Rev. Robert) Christian Jr. and Jay Little; five great-grandchildren, Danielle Rorie, Derris McQueen, Carli Christian, Dyjon Harrington and
Julina Christian; three sisters, Viola Bridges and Anna Mason of Cheraw, and Margarine Funderburk of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and special friends Yvette Burns, Louise McQueen and Lee Hudley.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Lee Charles Cue and Michael Pegues; and a daughter, Cynthia Denise Pegues.
Arrangements were entrusted to Reid's Funeral Home.
