High school students awarded Palmetto Fellows scholarships

Eighteen students from Chesterfield County are among the 1,537 outstanding S.C. high school seniors awarded the prestigious Palmetto Fellows Scholarship for 2006-07.

The following is a list of Palmetto Fellows from around Chesterfield County and the college or university they plan to attend: Courtney Caulder of Chesterfield, Clemson University; Richard Compton of Patrick, USC - Columbia; Marla Eddins of Cheraw, USC-Columbia; Erin Freeman of Cheraw, College of Charleston; Jessica Hammond of Pageland, USC-Upstate; Michael Harris of Pageland, Presbyterian College; and Whitney Hartman of Jefferson, USC-Columbia.

Also Jessica Herrington of McBee, Clemson University; Lane Jordan of Chesterfield, USC-Columbia; Elizabeth Kelly of Pageland, Charleston Southern University; Meagan Linton of Cheraw, Clemson University; Landon McLeod of Cheraw, College of Charleston; Branden Pate of Cheraw, Coastal Carolina University; Benjamin Pierce of Jefferson, Winthrop University; Miranda Stanley of Patrick, College of Charleston; Mitchell Wallace of Pageland, Clemson University; Andrew White of Cheraw, Greenville College; Allen Wright of McBee, College of Charleston; and from Wallace in Marlboro County, Karen Chavis, Coker College.
