Cheraw upends Andrew Jackson

Cheraw used a strong pitching performance by junior Trey Allison and some timely hitting to win their fourth straight game by defeating Andrew Jackson 16-2 on March 9 in a non-region match-up.

Senior Brandon Chapman had another game-changing performance but this time it was from the plate instead of the mound. Chapman had fourhits in five trips to the plate with a home run and a triple.

The Braves played Chesterfield on Wednesday.

On March 6, the Lady Rams pulled off a big upset as they knocked off the top-ranked Indian Land Lady Warriors 3-2.

Chesterfield gave up 2 runs in the fourth. The game stayed that way till the sixth when Haley Gibson lead off with a double. Angie Ludwig drew a walk. Kelly King moved both runners up to 2 & 3 and Sheila Shaw hit a single to score both runners. Indian Land went down 1, 2, 3 in the seventh. Brittany Owensby reached base on an error and stole second. Kerry Jackson moved her to 3rd; and with 2 outs, bottom of the seventh, Sarah Cassidy came up with the big hit to drive in the winning run.

On March 9, the Lady Rams lost to North Central 2-0. Chesterfield's record is 2-3.

Lee Central 0

The Lady Braves hitters had a revolving door at home plate March 9 as Cheraw pounded the Lady Stallions of Lee Central 31-0.

Cheraw evened its record at 5-5 on the season with the victory.

On Tuesday, The Lady Braves fell to West Florence by a score of 5-3.
