CHERAW--The Cheraw Parks and Recreation Department will have their annual Joe Pierce Youth Sports Classic on Saturday, September 29th, at Arrowhead Park. The event will feature two youth football games, running from 10:00 a.m. through approximately 12:30 p.m.
The day's activities are in honor of the late Joe Pierce, who was a dedicated volunteer and coach with the Recreation Department for many years in the 1970's and 1980's.
The first youth football game at 10:00 a.m. will be a Small Fry tilt, ages 9-10, between State Farm Insurance of Cheraw and Chesterfield. The 11:15 a.m. matchup in the Mite Division, ages 11-12, will feature Lee Real Estate against Carolina Canners, in a battle of the two Cheraw squads.
Everyone is invited to come out on Saturday and watch the youth of Cheraw and Chesterfield participate in an event that honors one of the finest volunteers the Cheraw Parks and Recreation Department has ever had.
