Anyone interested in helping determine the plan of action for constructing a new, permanent bridge over the Teal’s Mill spillway is invited to a public meeting with representatives from the South Carolina Department of Transportation next Tuesday, April 3, at the Lower Macedonia Church building in Teal’s Mill, between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Teal’s Meal resident Arthur Bays said he is encouraged by the highway department’s eagerness to work with area residents and predicts there will be a good turnout for the meeting.
T.K. Johnson, project manager for SCDOT, said Monday that at least one of the blueprints for the proposed bridge would call for a “new alignment.” That would mean, he said, area residents would still be able to travel the temporary bridge while the new one is being built.
