The Cheraw Chronicle and Chesterfield Advertiser is your community newspaper. One of the ways we involve ourselves is by running the events and happenings of the community in our weekly calendar. Send us your event listing no later than noon the Monday prior to publication (Thursday) and we will list your event in the newspaper. There is no charge for most event listings. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

WHAT: Westfield Creek is hosting their annual vacation bible school, everyone is welcome. The theme for this year is “Adventures of Promise Island,” where kids discover God’s lifesaving love.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFIT DANCE

WHEN: June 15 at 8 p.m.

WHERE: Cheraw Community Center, Cheraw

WHAT: The Xi Iota Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.will host their Zeta Luau, an annual scholarship benefit dance. Activities will include door prizes, a Greek step show, and a vendor will be present with Greek and Masonic paraphernalia. The price of this year event is $18. Tickets may be purchased from any member of the chapter. All proceeds go towards the Soror Geri Ford Memorial Scholarship fund.

CIVIL WAR REENACTMENT

WHEN: June 16 at 11 a.m.

WHAT: The 54th Massachusetts Co. I, Civil War Reenactment will be sharing stories about African American soldiers. There will also be activities and we will sample camp food. Ages 5 and up. Activity fee is $15. Adults are $9. Deadline to register is June 8.

ADULT ART NIGHT

WHAT: Sanctioned by the Carolinas Cycling Association. Spectators will enjoy spectators racing throughout the historic district. This event is free.

CRAFTING WITH MS. GINA

BLOOD DRIVE

WHAT: The American Red Cross is having a blood drive. Walk-ins are welcomed. Please make sure you eat and drink plenty of water before coming to donate. Bring your driver’s licenses or your blood donor card with you for identification purposes.
