Dear Editor,
I never knew much about the New Hope Salkehatchie Camp until I was a recipient of all their kindness and hard work.
I was always thankful to have a house, but embarrassed for others to see the dilapidated condition it was in. Now I am so proud to live in a safe, beautiful, and comfortable home. Everyone treated me with such dignity and respect.
The best way I can thank everyone for their generosity and hard labor is to live my life helping others in need. I can’t say enough to ever repay everyone. My life has truly been changed. I feel positive energy in this house, a sense of hopefulness, and peace. I plan to leave the personalized cross and flame sign up for as long as it will last.
I’m proud, and I will never forget.
God bless each and every camp member, the churches for providing meals, and every donor.
