The following arrests were recently made by the Cheraw Police Department:

• Lee Short Jr., 39, of 100 Fred Harris #2, Cheraw, was arrested for public intoxication.

• Leverne Chapman Jr., 36, of 113 Clyde Ave. Apt. F 5, Cheraw, was arrested for driving under suspension.

• Demetric Fontrell Simmons, 24, of 327 B College St., Spartanburg, S.C., was arrested for a violation of a beginner’s permit, unlawful weapon, and simple assault.

• Ravon Sinclair, 21, of 557 W. Blue St., St. Pauls, N.C., was arrested for trespassing.

• Delonte Maurice Hicks, 23, of 1620 Mary Lee St., Bennettsville, was arrested for unlawful weapon and criminal domestic violence.

Arrest reports published in the Cheraw Chronicle are copied from local law enforcement records. Reports include both arrest and criminal summons such as citations. The Chronicle lists them all as arrests. People charged are presumed innocent until determined to be guilty by a court of law.
