Doris Williams Hudson, 82, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel, Chesterfield.

Interment to follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at the funeral home.

Hudson was born Dec. 4, 1929, in Chesterfield, a daughter of the late Ervin and Celia Tarlton Williams. She was a retired inspector with Burlington Industries and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Hudson enjoyed shopping, sewing, growing flowers, and spending time at the beach. In addition to her parents, Doris was also preceded in death by her first husband, Melvin Polson, her sons, Ronald Lee Polson and Melvin Eugene Polson, and by three brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include a husband, David Bryant Hudson of the home, daughter, Lexie (Jerry) Lewis of Chesterfield, daughter-in-law, Agnes Polson of Cheraw, two stepsons, Jimmy Hudson of Loris, and Tony Hudson of Mullins, stepdaughter, Susan Lewis of Loris, five grandchildren, five step grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Chesterfield County, P.O. Box 293, Chesterfield, SC 29709.

Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home of Chesterfield, is serving the family.
